I completely understand that similarities can exist between stories, especially when certain tropes or situations are common. But similarities alone do not automatically mean that a story is copied.

There are scenes in my book that were written before and I have shared spoilers for them earlier as well. So before bashing me or making assumptions, please keep the timeline in mind.

I am not claiming anything against anyone nor am I trying to start any controversy. I'm simply asking people to be fair before making such serious statements about someone's work.

You can dislike the book and you can have your own opinions but please don't turn that into an accusation without knowing the complete context.

I genuinely don't want any controversy because I don't like fighting or unnecessary arguments with anyone. If I make a mistake, I have no problem taking accountability for it and I already did that about a year ago. But if I haven't done anything wrong this time, I don't think I should be made to feel guilty either.

I honestly don't care what everyone chooses to think because I know how much effort I put into this. I wrote this story with my own ideas and my own thought process. Just because certain elements happen to resemble something else doesn't automatically mean I copied it. If you genuinely feel there are similarities, then at least dig deeper and understand the context before immediately saying, "You copied XYZ." I literally wrote the entire story and completed it, only to see people reducing all that effort to an accusation of copying.

I'll still be transparent about where I did get inspiration from because I have absolutely no issue acknowledging that.

The Kolkata r*pe case, remember that? The main plot is loosely based on that incident. Not the entire case itself but one of the theories I came across on the internet became an inspiration for an aspect of my story.

And yes, I've read Shivanya and hope apne bhi padhi hogi, and I genuinely respect that book. I loved it, despite everything, and I'll openly admit that I got a little inspiration from there as well. There are also several ideas in my story that are completely MY OWN, which I came up with myself.

And the funniest part is that this is primarily a sports-subplot story, yet somehow people are comparing it as if I've taken the entire concept from somewhere else. Please look beyond a few similarities before making such a serious accusation.

If XYZ has also taken inspiration from the same sources I happened to come across then honestly, I'm sorry, but that isn't my fault either. Inspiration can overlap. Similar ideas can exist independently. That doesn't automatically make one person a copy of another.

I'm not trying to fight with anyone or create drama. I'm simply defending my work because I know the effort and thought I put into it. I can take accountability when I'm actually wrong but I won't feel guilty for something I didn't do.

And I'm genuinely not here to fight or argue with anyone. If you don't like the book, that's completely fine, don't read it. It really is as simple as that. You don't have to like everything I write and I'm not expecting everyone to.

I'm already planning to shift the book to ScrollStack anyway because, honestly, the kind of audience I'm getting here has made the experience unnecessarily exhausting. I'd rather have readers who are actually interested in the story than constantly defend myself against accusations and arguments.
